The time is here!! Everyone goes a little shopping cray-cray this time of year anyway, especially when beauty brands that never go on sale are 20% off! The Sephora VIB Sale Holiday Bonus started Friday for Rouge, and next week for VIB and Beauty Insiders. Plus, for Rouge members, there are TWO events! Double the trouble. In celebration of the much anticipated sale, I thought I would share a few recommendations, you know add my two cents! All dates and codes will be below.
Sephora is hit and miss for me with skincare products, I just had to say it! They have some excellent brands and they have some duds! In an effort to weed out the duds, I will share my skincare picks for the big sale.
Anything Drunk Elephant
I actually have never met a Drunk Elephant product I didn’t like, I just enjoy some more than others. If you are new to the brand, I would recommend one of the handy little sets to see what you like the most. Since Drunk Elephant products are a skinvestment, or if you are already #drunkinlove, now is the time to pick up the full size of that sample you have been loving! However, do keep in mind, while Drunk Elephant is excluded from sitewide promos at DermStore, you can purchase the products as a subscription which scores you 15% off. Also, the online retailer b-Glowing sometimes has 20% off promotions on Drunk Elephant products too. The full sized sets are sometimes not available at other retailers, so if you have your eye on one of those, the Sephora Sale would be a great time to take advantage of the discount.
I am often asked by newbies to the brand which DE product someone should buy first. I always ask what their skin concerns are, skin type, etc., however, the universal answer is the TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum. It has the biggest impact on skin in a short amount of time, plus it can be used more often than BabyFacial.
Drunk Elephant have recently reformulated and rereleased their Beste Jelly Cleanser, now called Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser. The updated version includes a tweak in the formulation to lower the pH to 5.9 and flip top packaging! The new version can be found here.
Drunk Elephant Skincare ranging from $20-$425 at Sephora.
Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil
Everyone should try a cleansing oil to remove makeup at least once! I am a convert to oil cleansers and I have never looked back. No more foamy, gel cleansers for me! This oil is perfect for all skin types, is a thin-dry texture, and it destroys any makeup, oil, dirt, or spf! It is a quality product at a great price point. Not to mention, the company has a great ethos. The type of company you can feel good about supporting. I actually have the Biossance Squalane Superstars set on my wishlist because I want to try more products from their range! I wrote more about this cleansing oil in my September Favorites post.
Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil 6.7 oz/$30 found here.
Sephora Favorites Scouted by Sephora Set
This is a great skincare set that allows you to try out a ton of new-er brands at Sephora. The Drunk Elephant products are $25 alone, so it is definitely a great value. All of the products are nice sizes for deluxe samples! Definitely enough product to decide if you may want to purchase the full size. I like the variety in this set. While it is mostly skincare products, they included one hair product and one body product.
Sephora Favorites sets are usually a pass for me because I already own samples of the products included. Unlike other sets, the Scouted by Sephora set doesn’t include samples that are offered free with purchase. This set is actually nicely curated, very thoughtful products that can work on a variety of skin types and are actually coveted products!
Sephora Favorites Scouted by Sephora, includes 11 deluxe samples and 3 one-time use peel pads. $44. This set may be sold out online, but if you can still find it in store I definitely recommend picking it up while you still can!
CoverFx Perfect Setting Powder
This isn’t a flashy new palette or a gorgeous lipstick, but a setting powder is an essential! I have used the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder and the RCMA No-Color Powder, but my favorite is definitely the CoverFx Perfect Setting Powder. It comes in two shades, light-medium and medium-deep. It is a soft, silky powder that doesn’t cause my under eye area to look like a crepey mess and I have never experienced any flashback with this powder. My makeup has a beautiful finish and stays all day.
CoverFx Perfect Setting Powder, 0.35 oz/$35 found here.
Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer
After buying the Dior Forever Skin Foundation I thought I would give the corresponding concealer a chance. I am rather picky about my concealer and don’t stray once I find something I love. This concealer has the most beautiful finish, it just looks like skin. It blends very easily, a lot of times I will blend it out with my fingertip if I am in a hurry. It doesn’t crease or look cakey, and it really doesn’t need to be set with a powder. The Forever Undercover Concealer is a medium coverage concealer, enough to cover my dark circles, but not the best at covering active breakouts. It is perfect for a day-to-day makeup look for me. I wrote more about this concealer in my September Favorites.

Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette
It isn’t too late to get your hands on this little gem! The amazing thing about this palette is I have IG friends that range from fair skin to dark skin and it truly looks amazing on everyone! I love every.single.shade in the palette! Dare I say that I like it more than my Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette?! The formula is superb, the colors are gorgeous and it is universally flattering. That’s a win in my book!
Becca Cosmetics x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette $46, found here.
I don’t know about you, but I typically use this sale to buy higher end products that never go on sale! Viseart is the perfect example. To me, their price point is warranted because no one makes eyeshadows quite like Viseart, especially mattes. They are creamy and blend like a dream. I have my eye on the new Golden Hour Palette myself! There palettes are an investment you won’t regret!
Viseart Eyeshadow Palettes, ranging from $30-$80 found here.
Viseart Neutral Matte Palette, 0.84 oz./$80 found here.
Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder
My favorite bronzer, hands down. I have the shade #5, Brunettes and the color is perfection. It is warm without looking orange, just the perfect amount of warmth to fake a tan! There are different shades available ranging from 0-7, which is quite rare to find a brand with so many bronzer options. The powder is easy to apply and blend out to look natural. There is shimmer in the pan, but it doesn’t translate onto the skin. Just a gorgeous matte bronzer! It is hard for me to reach for other bronzers while I have this in my collection!
Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder, 0.35 oz./$53 found here.
Tom Ford Sheer Highlighting Duo
While we are on the subject of luxury makeup brands, let’s talk about this lovely face duo from Tom Ford. The colors are absolutely stunning and the packaging is luxe. The thing I love most about this Tom Ford duo is the versatility. While both powders look very metallic in the compact, it can actually be worn very subdued by applying with a fan brush. No glitter flecks, just very sophisticated. On the other hand, I will admit to using a setting spray to foil the highlighter so that no one will miss my glow! I swipe my brush across the powder then I spritz my setting spray directly onto the brush. It creates a beaming highlight, which is very popular right now. Either way it is used the colors are gorgeous, it blends very well, and let’s get real…it’s vanity candy!
Tom Ford Sheer Highlighting Duo in Reflect Gilt $80 found here.
I have found this compact, and other Tom Ford products, for you overseas readers at FeelUnique!
Tarte Blush Bazaar Palette
This limited edition palette from Tarte Cosmetics contains 10 Amazonian clay blushes in a very travel friendly palette. The palette in my photos is actually from last year’s sale, so the colors in this year’s palette are different. However the concept is the same. It has been such a handy palette to have in my collection because it does have some shades that I wouldn’t normally wear. This turned out to be an asset because anytime I did something different with my makeup or couldn’t find the right color blush for my look, this palette came to the rescue every single time! It is a great addition to any makeup lover’s collection. Temptalia has a full review and swatches of the new palette here.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eyeshadows
If you want to feel like a makeup pro, just create your own palette with eyeshadow singles! I have several palettes full of single eyeshadows in my collection and have tried many brands. I can unequivocally say that Anastasia makes the best. The matte shades are probably my favorite, they are right up there in quality with Viseart. Along with their creamy mattes, Anastasia knows how to make a foiled eyeshadow! (They are called Metallics) I believe this is where they really shine. No pun intended! I have a few of ABH eyeshadow palettes, Modern Renaissance and the Mario Palette. However, in my very humble opinion, their eyeshadow singles are formulated better. They are not cheap at $12 a piece, so now would be a good time to try them out or add more colors to your palette.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eyeshadows, 0.059 oz./$12. found here.
Sephora Collection Line Up Makeup Tape
This little gem I found during the Spring Sephora sale, and it has been very handy to use! The Sephora Collection makeup tape is like medical tape. It is very soft and won’t pull your skin off when removing like regular tape. It is really easy to apply, throw on a few colors of eyeshadow and it looks like you really tried! It makes a crisp line for a perfect cat eye without having to be precise.
Sephora Collection Line Up Makeup Tape, $6/15 ft. of tape. Again, this is out of stock online, but is still available in stores. I am so sorry for this oversight on my part. The tape can be found here just in case it is restocked.
Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High-Intensity Refillable Lipstick
This lipstick isn’t just pretty packaging, it is actually a very pigmented, semi-matte lipstick that comes in tons of gorgeous shades. I wrote more about it in my September Favorites so check that out for more info. Hourglass also has a Holiday Set that contains 1 lipstick with 2 additional refills. It has three gorgeous, very wearable shades and has been in my cart for a month!
Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High-Intensity Refillable Lipstick (with gold packaging) 0.03 oz./$34 found here.
Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High-Intensity (Refill only) 0.03 oz./$22 found here.
Hourglass Confession Refillable Lipstick Set $54 found here.
Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss
Now is also the time to buy that lipgloss that is a-little-more-than-you-normally-pay! The Marc Jacobs gloss is a pigmented, minty cushion for your lips. I have it in the shade Sugar Sugar, a champagne gold shimmer. It is a really gorgeous nude gloss great for everyday wear. And I do, wear it everyday. Most days anyway! The gloss is thick, but doesn’t feel tacky, and stays longer than other lip glosses I have worn. I will definitely add more shades to my collection, maybe I should add the Lip Lacquer Collection to my cart too!?
Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss 0.16 oz./$28 found here.
I hope everyone enjoyed my recommendations for the Sephora VIB Sale! I would love to hear what everyone picked up once the sale is over! Sephora actually has tons of excellent hair products I have found. Below is the dates and codes for the sale. Hope everyone has fun shopping during the sale!
